San Antonio's calendar is built for group trips: Spurs season, the Stock Show & Rodeo in February, Fiesta in April, and the Missions and River Walk any week of the year. The difference between a good weekend and a great one is where you go afterwards. This house sleeps fourteen and has its own court, game room and heated pool.
A hotel room after a game is a hallway and a lobby bar. Hill Country Briar Retreat is a private single-story house in a quiet San Antonio neighborhood with a game room, a pickleball and basketball court, a heated pool and hot tub, a thatched tiki bar and a fire-pit lounge — the kind of place the group actually wants to come back to at eleven at night.
Shoot around on the court under the oaks. Run a pool-table bracket in the game room, under the neon and the cowboy mural. Grill at the long outdoor table. Then rideshare in together — nobody drives, nobody parks.
Spurs season runs October through April. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo takes over February — rodeo, concerts and a carnival. Fiesta is ten-plus days in April: parades, Night in Old San Antonio, and a city-wide reason to be outside. Off-calendar, the River Walk, the Alamo and the Missions trail don't need a date. Our San Antonio guide has the rest.
Two king bedrooms, a queen, and the Bunk Salon — two full-over-full bunks under a striped ceiling that sleeps eight. Two full bathrooms. The house is a single story; nobody's carrying a cooler upstairs.
A chef's kitchen with a coffee bar for the breakfast-taco run, a heated pool for the recovery swim, a hot tub for the ones who overdid the tailgate, and a putting green for the argument about who won.
It's a home on a residential street. Your group, not a guest list — Airbnb's no-party policy applies to every stay. Treat it like your own and the neighbors won't know you were here, which is exactly how we like it.
Pickleball and basketball under the oaks. The friendly rivalries start here and end at the tiki bar.

Pool table, shuffleboard, arcade classics, the house neon and a cowboy mural that has seen it all.

Heated, with floats and loungers, and the hot tub beside it. Sunset is the best hour; midnight is a close second.

“The pickleball/basketball combo court was a huge hit! Lots to do at the house that we didn't care to go anywhere else.”
